چکیده

Batter or raker piles are driven at an inclination with a vertical to resist large inclined lateral forces. Many structures like offshore and towers subjected overturning moments due wave pressure, wind load, ship impacts. Therefore in such structures, combination of the batter is used transfer compression tension forces foundation. This paper presents three-dimensional finite element analysis using PLAXIS 3D software study battered pile's behavior under effect pullout load. Several variables that influence pile capacity embedded sandy soil investigated. The models steel dense sand different angles (0, 10, 20, 30) degrees two embedment ratios, L/d (15 20). To clarify shape's on capacity, shapes used, circular diameter equal 20 mm square section 15.7×15.7 mm. These dimensions chosen achieve perimeter for both shapes. numerical results pointed increases increasing angle ratio, maximum values marked 20o. shape bending moment profile single curvature, peak located approximately midpoint pile, while zero value tip head.

A comparative study on pile group and piled raft foundations (PRF) behavior under seismic loading

Study on the seismic behavior of piled rafts and pile groups while the same amount of construction material and excavation is used in their construction, are the main objective of this research. The process where the raft interaction with soil can affect the seismic response and stress distribution is also discussed in the current study. By means, ABAQUS software was applied for the finite elem...

Numerical Study on the Crushing Behavior of Square Tubes Under Three Dimensional Oblique Loading

This study aims to numerically investigate on the crashworthiness of thin-walled square tubes by consideration of 3-D oblique loading. In this type of loading, direction of loading is defined by using two spatial angles relative to the position of the tube. To this aim, finite element (FE) analysis is employed to simulate the loading for 8 different numerical models with different loading orien...

Numerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Plates with Circular Cutouts under Cyclic Axial Loading

In this paper, accumulation of plastic deformation of AISI 1045 steel plates with circular cutouts under cyclic axial loading is studied. Loading was applied under force-control conditions. Experimental tests were performed using a Zwick/Roell servo hydraulic machine. Under force-control loading with nonzero mean force, plastic strain was accumulated in continuous cycles called ratcheting. Nume...

Raft and Pile Foundations under Cyclic Loading

The paper presents typical phenomena which can occur due to cyclic loading in granular soil. Numerical analysis with different material laws shows the challenges to simulate the ground behaviour realistically. Results of numerical analysis by means of the Finite-Element-Method are presented and the limitation of material laws discussed.
